Hi folks! Welcome to the ride board. Folks who have signed up for Wild Earth also sent their ride share info along, and I'll be posting some of those rides available-rides needed here. Ride shares are a great way for drivers to share gas and ferry costs, and for hitchhikers to get an express trip. In case we don't have the funds to rent a van or commandeer a school bus, ride shares will be the way to go for many Wild Earthlings.

Private messages can be sent to forestaction at gmail.com. Thank you!

There's a little forest within sight of the Island Highway in Chemainus that the District of North Cowichan is set on developing, despite the fact that most people in the community want it preserved. When a Penelakut First Nation elder visited and saw all the rare medicinal plants, he asked, "Why are you going to cut down our pharmacy?".

Others have asked similar questions - from ethnobotanist Dr Nancy Turner to UVic's Dr Kelly Bannister, head of the Polis Project who helped set up the Chemainus Biodiversity Education Project last year.

Read more at www.echoheights.ca

It's at the library square because that is also the location of the Ministry of Transportation, where the subdivision approving officer is.
